How to achieve restraint of one's mind?


Arjuna protested, “You have declared the yoga of equanimity. I do not see this possible when mind is agitated. Mind by its nature is restless, boisterous, perverse, and obstinate. I think achieving restraint of one’s mind is as impossible as restraining the wind.”

Krishna replied, “Arjuna, without doubt mind is restless and difficult to be subjugated. But with practice and will power it can be controlled. I believe that a person who is unable to subjugate his mind will not be able to achieve this yoga. But the person whose mind is restrained and who is assiduous, will be able to acquire it”
